Good advice, also it is important not to dwell while drilling ie..keep pressure on the drill, if not, on stainless steel you will create a polished finish which is difficult to break through, the best lubricant I have found is called RTD compound (reamer-tap-drill) it has the adantage of smelling nice while you are working with it. always buy HSS drills with a high cobalt content. titanium is irrelevant as it will be gone as soon as you sharpen it.Any good quality HSS twist bit will drill ss, as long as you drill slow & well lubed. drill a small ( say 3m/m first to remove the area the larger drill centre / tip takes ) then drill the size you require.
