We have decided to make a quick dash down to the Algarve for winter if I can get a decent weather window in September. It will need to be a pretty direct route from the Isle of Man straight down past the Scillies and then probably Coruna for stocking up and getting any safety equipment / Portugese charts etc. I haven't been there since 1996 so does anyone happen to know if there is a decent chandlery there?

Cheers,

Steve

We went to one there in 2012 and again last year and seem to remember that they had reasonable stock. It was a fair walk from the marina but not far enough to bother with public transport.

It was called Pombo and I think it is on Avenida Primo de Rivera, but either marina will give you directions. I'd suggest staying in the Real club marina as it is cheaper and closer to town.

Just return from La Coruna, leaving the boat in marina Seca on the hard and will confirm Mistroma comments about the chandlery it's still there and has a good stock. Cannot comment on charts through.
