There are no other boats in this photo as there weren't many boats out today (apart from Allan and Damo, who I saw near the Outer Wrach).

The photo was taken from near EW Grounds.

This is a photo of a 9 knot bow wave from Cervisia. The 10 knot version is even better, but has never been caught on camera. Taking the photo was interesting: it was wind over tide, singlehanded, taken over the lee rail while trying to handle the tiller with the left hand.

It was an amazing sail back from Watchet today. It was about force 4/5 (according to the anemometer) over the tide which made for a nicely wavy sea. Being on a beam / broad reach all the way back towards Lavernock Point allowed for some excellent surfing down the waves. The views back to frost / snow on the Quantocks and Exmoor were nice. The sunset was pretty special too!

Winter Racing

The weekend before last in Milford Haven (which I think still counts as Bristol channel?). You can just see the Cleddau bridge in the background.

Ilfracombe at anchor

A beautiful day in late August while anchored in the outer harbour at Ilfracombe, it was so good the kids tempted me to go in for a quick dip with them! After all the terrible weather though August this was a memorable weekend for 2009.

Took the camera to the racing at the bay today, but no good shots. Saw this big yacht leaving the barrage.

Oops! Didn't read the first post properly and wasn't aware it was in the Bristol channel forum.

Didn't even know there was a BC forum on here:)

That's ok. Now that you've found us, stay for a bit. Watch the tides, mind.
