Looking to visit Woodbridge Sat and return Sunday. Looks like both Sat and Sun will have a NE wind, with Sunday looking fairly brisk.

What is the Deben entrance like with the wind in this direction is it OK to go?

It's not at all bad in a NE wind as the seas break on the knolls, which shelter the channel. Winds E round to SSE on the ebb are the winds to watch for.

We entered in a NE6 a few weeks ago 2.5 hours after LW and it was fine, unlike our very uncomfortable upwind/uptide passage from the Backwaters.

Many thanks for that I thought it should be the case but nice to have it confirmed.

Try to leave on the last of the flood, the banks do shelter the channel but the area around the bar will kick up in a fresh NE with the ebb running. Even the last of the flood is probably 2 knots against you so don't expect to leave as fast as you arrived!
