... now might be appropriate to point out to you, sir, the scurrilous suggestion that we might have in any way purloined for pecuniary gain (nicked in your words) any or all of TK's fray bentos pies. these most nutritious and mouthwatering cans of grub were offered freely, i'll have you know

i do admit, though, some slight puzzlement as these items were passed onboard ... there being an ample sufficiency of ballast on ma boat already and .....

hope this makes the position clear ....

Re: Ballast

... And I thought you'd gone to Cherbourg to get some more ballast. At least that was the impression with the copious quantities of refreshments that were being delivered from the wine cellar ....

Re: Ballast

It was bad down below. The inert form of Jimi rolling from side to side with every passing swell. Cases of wine stacked three deep across the saloon floor. Big Nick raiding the snacks locker. The sinister clanking of Fray Bentos ballast shifting in the bilge. A strange bonnet appearing like Banquo's ghost.

A hell ship, I tell you.

It's a fair cop guv!
A certain twisted geezer, who shall remain nameless, (but I think ya KEN who I mean) put me up to it, honest!
He wants to instigate a Hutton type inquiry so's he can sell his story to the press for millions and corner the market on tinned cow pats!!
Couldn't do it himself 'cos he's a material witness.
I tell ya, he's twisted, really twisted! Send us one of your FB's and I'll grass him up for ya, no worries.

Re: how many tins ...?

When the crew said he was "in the can" I thought they meant that he was enjoying Le President's pleasure for swearing at the Gendarmes again. Ah well have to get meself a new one, I hear the African Greys are reasonably priced at this time of year.
