When giving instructions please learn to use appropriate words. For example: "As quick as you can pull her in", sheet or furl may help.

One engine down so ask are you sure you want to go starboard too? Rigged up ready to go to be told not that starboard....

The best one must be being sent to clear into a marina "tell them we're 12 m", interesting when staff ask me if we changed the boat but kept the same name as if it's the same boat we've shrunk!

Skippers, bless 'em :)

God bless crew who always know better than the skipper, and never buy their own boat to prove it.

Imprecise and unclear instructions is usually a symptom of poor planning or impatience by a skipper assuming they skilled enough. By impatience I mean committing to early before confirming the crew are ready.

You mean there are people out there who don't jointly own their boat?? Strange concept :)

Of course not she might run off with the boat without me...

Have just bought a house and she was interested in was a share in the boat, I compromised and she helped pay for the sails :D.

Yes, there is quite a lengthy debate regarding the correct terminology. That said, hopefully, most of us are able to differentiate between the left and right side of a boat..
Hubby is laughing; light hearted humour can be enjoyable!

I was just making fun of the hubby, he's ok really.. Bought him a pair of captains socks so as long as they're on the correct feet all will be good

Surely you bought those natty red and green ones for him. Best to buy 2 pairs for ultimate choice - or confusion.
