Dear Santa, our boat needs...

Crocs are great .. Lost a red one after a night out . Tried to launch the dingy in the dark and finished up in the mud .. Rescued Croc .. Got back on boat .. Removed Croc to wash it off and kicked it over the side .. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif .. Now have pink ones and light blue to keep lonely red one happy .. Keep threatening to take the red one out with one of its cousins .. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Dunno what people see in Crocs. OK, they're light, easy to kick on and off, but not for those into aesthetics. And for those like me not into aesthetics, there's another problem. If there is any standing water within half a nautical mile, they'll scoop it up.

Nah...Crocs are great mate! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Just look at those beauties!

The geese are getting fat - time to resurrect another old chestnut.

Seriously, though, now that the fashion thing is out of the way, are there any yachties out there who still believe that Crocs are suitable footwear for a boat?

For when at anchor and wanting to go ashore to a beach then they are enormously practical.... for general use aboard, i'm less convinced

They grip pretty well, but use in the UK is limited by the climate! Excellent for swimming in the Med (they float when they come off), if you anticipate making the acquaintance of any Sea Urchins :)

Clicked on this thread and thought had just been transferred to the Nautical Croc Appreciation Forum, or perhaps a Croc Porn Addiction forum. Hey - whatever gets your Crocs off for you is OK !!

I bought some for SWMBO, and was persuaded, by the lovely Bev and an equally attractive discount, to buy some for myself at the same time.

They're OK for wearing around the yard at home, but I wouldn't take them anywhere near a boat: not after a heart-stopping near miss at the top of some stone steps - they have an uncanny knack of catching on obstructions.
