Is the TMBA up for a challenge?
With our Queen feeling the austerity and a little financially challenged she may be searching for some more revenue streams. Perhaps she might consider levying a modest daily charge to moor alongside her immaculately camp-shedded 3/4 mile bankside opposite Datchet; seems such a waste not to let her subjects take advantage of something just crying out to be used.
Nice short stroll to her little farmshop as well.:)

Could be 'tea and medals' Tony, if she likes the idea.;)

Regrettably, one must inform you that one has already approached Crown Estates about this matter in the not too distant past and one received what might graciously be described as an invitation to ride ones bicycle :D

Actually, its not the best of places to stop overnight being right under the Heathrow flight path

Yeah, fancy building a castle there!

Did you apply on behalf of TMBA.

Did you apply on behalf of TMBA.

No, I was acting purely as a private citizen trying it on - didn't really expect to get anywhere, to be honest !

The more I consider the mooring problems up and down the river , the more I realise just how much privilege, ancestry and dosh still rule the world.

There must be a hundred "No Mooring" signs for every one that says "Moor Here"

Along with the other 30 odd square miles around it.

Have been working on a cunning plan to have 200 tons of metal flying 500ft above my house every 3 mins for 24 hours a day,it would appear that property values rocket as a result
Basically it involves an ILS beacon in the garden.:)

One is not amused:(

Its also a bit of a "burn up" reach so you would get tossed around like a cork. (and no, not guilty!)

Yes it certainly is. Moorings there, might have at least slowed people down. However as it's not going to happen boaters will continue with their 'Italian tuning' on the reach.;)
