Please can we have a bit more enforcement at Henley on a Saturday afternoon?

This pr!ck went up and down all afternoon with a look on his face that he was waiting for a reaction...

In our weeks holiday, we did not see one Patrol boat......

I am sure he was up drinking at the George and Dragon at Wargrave at lunchtime, either that or there was two nearly identical boats doing the same thing.

He was clearly going much too fast when we saw him heading back to Marsh Lock after lunch.

Whilst he should have been watching his wake to judge his speed I would offer in his defence that it is difficult to judge your speed in that sort of boat. The first graduation on my speedo is 10mph and the needle doesn't even move off the bottom until 20mph. We have to use a GPS speedo and watch the wake, which is what he should have been doing.

This is why the old system of using wake rather than speed over the ground was a far better system of enforcement.

I can do better than that, we`ve had small Ribs planning on our reach most weekends now. Have a couple of video clips that I shot for the film we're making on the thames, they may well end up on you tube at some point tho !

OK! OK! if we are in a one-up thread, there was a Jet Ski zooming around the day before yesterday on my stretch. I can find out who it was too as he was someone from South Stoke and it was launched from the Ferry Lane Slipway.

LOL,

Now a hypothetical question, is there anything that says you can`t license or use a Jetski on the Thames if used within the speed limit ?

Would you need a boat safety certificate as technical its an inboard engine ?

Thing with Henley, is that any Saturday afternoon there are always loads of them.

...dont get me started on the Slipper launches, yes "Sir Poncalot and Lady SnobbyKnickers" - you DO MAKE WASH and the rules DO INCLUDE YOU!

well WE had a seaplane!!

well, ok a seaplane refuelling vessel...

ok, ok, it's moored on Church Island and I have never actually seen it move...

Well as you can see this landed in between Walton and Sunbury on Sunday as clearly see he is doing more than 4 knots.

But seriously we were out on Sunday and the EA did pull up a rental boat that was speeding and the renters were having more than a few drinks so we just need to get them to do more patrols.

Ex Navy seaplane vessel? More details please, SWMBO will doubtless want to know.

That's about all I know I'm afraid! Went on board with Gavi of this parish once, and the very friendly and knowledgable owner told us a bit of her history and that she'd been used as a liveaboard for a few years, now a hobby/bolthole. I think she is ex RAF rather than Navy, called Lyndsay (spelling?)

Very roomy and a great feeling on board - good karma.

Passed you on the weekend, you were in full gardening mode - a fine figure of a gut you have there!!

I'll play

We had a speed boat launched on the slipway opposite by a Ford Fiesta which reversed to far into the water and couldn't get out for about 30 min. Probably heard me laughing beacause they then spent the next 2 hours belting back and forth. 4 broken glasses, some pots on the floor and who knows what damage below the waterline! Neighbours mooring ring broke for the 4th time this year as well.
This guy was the worst but by no means the only offender.
No patrol boats seen all weekend.

Something came past us very fast about 5:30 Friday morning at South Stoke. Had a feeling it was a cruiser on the plane, but too sleepy to get up and look....

Ahh, now if you are passing tommorow you'd see me in filming mode. Doing another photo shoot, last time we were filming a broom was out the front for a while having fun watching our girls.
