I have just bought a boat at port Napoleon, Port St Louis through Ancasta and am shipping it back to Le Havre by lorry (Got a very good price for a return!).
Ancasta got me a quote for 500 Euros to de rig and drop the mast, seems an excessive amount?
Has anyone got the contact details of a rigger working near Port Napoleon?
And can anyone recommend a rigger in Le Havre to stick it back up?
I was thinking of getting it dropped at Port Plaisance, or is there anywhere better?
Thanks in anticipation,
roy

Could you give mean idea of the cost to move a boat to le havre? I have a 35 foot boat in Toulon that I need to move back to the north french coast.
In terms of mast removal your quote sounds v expensive I think my yard in Toulon charges about 100 euros to remove the mast (but this does not include cradle to mount on boat etc)

Navy Service ( Just around the corner from Port Napoleon) will do a good de-rig job for less money, and could do the cranage to get your boat on the low loader. You usually pay these guys by the hour, so if you can be there to help out with the rigging screws etc it can save you a bit. I was very impressed with them when my boat was down there. I have heard mixed reports about the Le Havre riggers, but it might be worth posting on Liveaboard Link wirth that specific inquiry.

We had our mast taken down at le Havre marina last year and it was almost DIY. But they only charged about 80€ for 30 mins crane/driver plus an assistant. Certainly 500€ is well over the top!

The riggers at Le Havre marina (in the outer harbour) do not have a good reputation, but I can't comment personally, just that heresay (including from an experienced American skipper moored next to us in Paris - he was less than impressed). Stephan Reiset (in the inner harbour) http://www.tagweb.co.uk/grehan/lehavre-honfleur.html#cnhm knows his stuff, but isn't cheap. Alternatively, the yard at Tancarville (at the extreme end of the Tancarville Canal just before the last lock into the Seine) http://www.tagweb.co.uk/grehan/tancarville-canal.html [foot of page] looks very well set up.
Alternatively #2, consider Honfleur - foot of Le Havre page.
