I know DC-DC regulators have been discussed several times recently so apologies for another thread.
The VGA output of my onboard mini-PC recently blew up (see thread here) and I have replaced it like for like with a Sumvision mini-PC which requires 12v DC.
The PC and 12v DC monitor are both powered by a CCTV-type voltage regulator/stablizer made by a company called Amperor (this one). When fitting my new PC into the system, it repeatedly froze/crashed when run on the 12v DC from the Amperor stabilizer. Checking with a voltmeter I was surprised to see it chucking out 12.8v. Plugging the PC into the supplied mains adapter (on shore power) I had no problems at all, and the shore power adapter is putting out 12.2v.
The previous mini-PC was run off the Amperor supply for nearly a year, and if the supplied voltage has slowly increased, perhaps this explains why it blew up! but no matter, I need a new 12v DC-DC stabliser/regulator. It needs to supply around 5 amps at 12v, be step up and down, and I deally I'd rather not buy a simple circuity board and have to build it into some housing or other, I'd like to plug and play. More importantly, I'd like to be able to adjust the output voltage to ensure I'm getting the right voltage for my gear.
The requirements seem to be met by something like this:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/DROK-Autom...14&keywords=dc-dc+12v+boost+buck+regulator+5a
But it seems bloomin' expensive compared to a 25-quid CCTV type stabiliser.
Any suggestions from the panel?
Cheers
