I did the Yacthmaster (Offshore) practical and assessment last week with East Anglin Sea School and am happy to say that I passed 
Just the last bit (online course) to do to get the commercial endorsement.
I have done Dayskipper and Yachtmaster theory as well as the practical with East Anglian and would recccomend them to anyone looking for some training. They are now using a Nelson 44 for the practicals......a serious boat and well suited to the role. The location is good too with the Stour and Orwell providing sheltered waters for pilotage, blind pilotage, anchoring etc and the coast providing plenty of challenges with sandbanks and shallow waters and, of course, plenty of shipping movements at Felixstowe and Harwich to contend with. Overall a very good training ground.

It has most of what you need in terms of theory stuff and there is a downloadable PDF, which I found to be very easy to read and a good source of reference. Everything is available for free but you can make a donation via PayPal if you are minded to (I will be).
No connection with either outfit but credit where credit is due and I thought I would share as it may be helpful to others who are embarking upon some RYA training.
