If by chance yours has a raised guard rail at the bow (like mine does, as well as another well known forum boat visible in the background), you can use it as below.
Though that's an arrangement which was more popular among some old school Italian builders - not very common these days.

here is a pic of that other forum boat with anker ball in place,
we alway's deploy the anker ball at anker, (contrary to many other boaters)
we have a system with a thin rope in a loop, to raise or lower the ball (similar like a flag)
 
Seems to me that an anchor ball serves two functions: to indicate that a vessel isn’t underway and where its chain might be likely to be.

As such, a visible location above the pointy end would seem optimal.
