I am trying to get hold of a small davit just to get the outboard on and off the boat and save my back from further injury. It has to be lightweight and removeable,any ideas

American, I know, but West Marine do ship to UK. Alternatively a search on Google should show if its available in UK. (I've got a feeling that I've seen something like this in the Plastimo catalogue)

The catalogue shows them with bases that the davits drop into when you need them, rather than just swivelling out of the way.

Mailspeed Marine - www.mailspeedmarine.com - have a product called a 'Removable Cargo Boom'. Basically a single davit. Two sizes available, cost approx £120.00 for the smaller.
