Not having used or fitted davits before is the idea that the very end of the davit to which the lifting tackle is attached should be over the middle of the tender?
I have a bathing platform and it makes me realise that the arms need to be a little over 4 foot to achive this whereas the Plastimo davits I quite like only extend as far as the edge of the platform.
Of course by the time the tender is lifted clear of the water it will hang nicely over the platform and against the transom but I am guessing there could be problems given the angle of the tackle with the initial part of the lift?
