Davit plates and cables

Currently in the process of removing platform davits to install crane davits for dinghy

Have removed the top plates but there are a set under the bathing platform I want to take off too. However on inspection, inside the engine bay where the bolts are located, there are 2 stainless wires trapped beneath the nuts. Never seen this before. Before I take the grinder to them, any idea what the cables are for?

Do they connect to your anodes for galvanic protection as presumably the plates are exposed to salt water.?
