David walliams time table..

The press release we have states that this swim is 120 miles longer than anything he has attempted before.

The current isn't that strong at the moment , certainly very little of it at Tedders. Our weir is fully shut in , and there is only a tiny amount of water going over the spill.

Apparently 3000 people turned up at Abingdon Lock last night following a local radio segment !

Although , if i am honest i will be extremely surprised if he makes it to Teddington , but never the less , will prep the island for the media frenzy on Saturday night / Sunday morning in case he does.

Agreed but who would have put money on our mate Bill swimming the length of Windermere last week with no wetsuit....if Bill can do that, Wallimas can do this..see you Sunday!

Agreed , Bill is a superhuman , but that was one day swimming ten miles ....

This is a lot more than that. 14 times as much in fact.

Plus Bill was completely Donald afterwards ....

If i'm not on duty Sunday , bring IPC ID as the island may be press only , not sure yet.

Latest update from his team is he is due to reach Hampton Court Bridge at about 5.30pm Sunday evening - he will stop for very short break and then swim onto Kingston for about 7.30pm.

Kingston will be his stop and overnight for Sunday.

Monday morning he will depart Kingston (Time TBC) and come through Teddington - stopping at the Lock for maybe upto an hour . He will then swim on from there through Richmond and onwards.

That sounds vaguely farmiliar ..Hmm can't find the smiley. .

Interesting experience - just exited Boulters as he entered the lock cut si we enjoyed mooring up while the entourage passed us and entered the lock.
Not exactly popular with Few members of Joe public who seemed to think we were most unreasonable wishing to use the moorings :D
Miranda Hart was trying to look delectable in a lifejacket on one of the escort boats.

Call me a cynic but I think the "spin-doctors" are at work hyping up the DW challenge to keep it forefront in the news; bring in more cash etc (which ain't a bad thing).....

Cash now exceeds £600,000!!!!:)

Posted the above earlier a bit tongue in cheek; and now - David saves dog from drowning despite his tummy problems!!!

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbi...-Thames-swim-Comedian-saves-dog-drowning.html

and Tedders says "currents not very strong around here" and David says "The currents and undertows (below Tedders) are very dangerous so I'll need to be strong". LOL

So who else has saved a dog from drowning in the Thames??? (I've rescued a sheep stuck in the shallows just below Abingdon)

That said; good luck to him making a successful finish.

He's due at Tedders at 1900. Currently as i type he's coming through Kingston.

Getting out at the lock , and starting again tomorrow apparently , but no one is sure exactly when as the tides are completely wrong.

HW Tedders tomorrow is pretty much 0330 ish and 1600 ish .... so not great for someone wanting to swim downriver.

I'm on at 0600 , so if i can get a piccy , i will.

So I'll bet that something like "David would really like to continue from Teddington at his usual daily start time of about 8:30am, but his tummy troubles are such that his doctor has advised postponing his start and with luck he will be able to do about 3 hours swimming starting late in the afternoon" - or something similar

..and again; good luck to him; he's got the right persona for this sort of thing.
(I'm really glad that Antony Worrell-Thompson didn't appear on telly - he lives just below Shiplake lock - but I would have liked to have seen Vince Hill or Debbie McGee cheering him on)

You know yourself that the river is unforgiving .
