Dossing around at home today - nobody here but the dogs and hens - and the plague or rabbits.
Poked around in the pantry for something to eat - needed to be quick, easy, warm and nice. Found a tin of luxury rice pudding buried at the back - into a bowl, nuked it for 3 minutes - yummee !!
Then washed the tin to go in the recycling - Best Before Feb 05 !!
Should I:
A - go to bathroom, stick fingers down throat, like in student drinking days?
B - dash off to the boat and head south, as that's what I would like to be doing when I pop my clogs?
C - forget all about it and continue looking for gainful employment.
My gut feel (pun!) tells me that C is a safe option. These dates must be set with a clear safety margin, wouldn't they?
Thinking about the vittals on board - I am sure there are many boats with a locker full of cans of beans, soups, fruit etc, many of which are out of date but would still be eaten if there was no option.
Or would you ditch them and go hungry?
(PS Anybody fancy shooting some rabbits?)
