Not the usual question.
End of this month I will be taking part in light the lakes. This involves climbing a hill in the lakes, wild camping until just before 03.00 then springing out of bed and lighting a hand held flare.
Its all in aid of Care of Police Survivors.

Has anyone any date expired flares they might let me take off them, kind of North of England Area. I need 1 but I can take several if there are any.
Grateful for any assistance.

Well if I had any I wouldn't be giving them away as one day they may save my life!
Hope I will never be in that situation!

Be careful of expired flares we fired them in Lagos, Portugal on the beach under the supervision of the coastguard. We all wore gloves and a parachute flare exploded in a man's hand. Another parachute flare went off and turned to a 90 degree angle to the ground. An expired hand held flare should be OK but do wear gloves just in case.
