Dashboard switch panel question (Jeanneau)

Afternoon all. Can anyone enlighten me what the 'Panel Lts' switch on my helm dashboard might be controlling? Thus far it seems not to be connected to anything.

I'm guessing it switches the lights on and off in the gauges and panel?

If you're meaning the oil, revs, and temp etc guages Rafiki, no it doesn't. They operate whether this one's on or off.

Compass light? On my boat the compass light is independently switched.

Jabbamusic on the PBO forum said it could be for the lights on the rocker switches themselves - which sort of makes a bit of sense. I'll pop down at dusk tomorrow and have a play.

I'd have thought it's the instrument/switch illumination, so that they're not in your face when it's dark

I don't have that on my P34 but I'd say its probably the instrumentation back lighting, not the instruments per say but the illumination when dark. Either way you should have a nice structured manual that explains the functions of the switches, I do and even if some of it is in french the diagrams are ok to follow.
