Just wondered if any one had any recomendations for someone who can help with this. boat is in spain at present (alicante but due to move it up to cartagenna for the rest of the winter. i know a few poeple have had this done on here so would be great to hear from you

Upper or lower helm ?

I did my upper one.

Took it to bits which took a few hours.

Most of it is obvious how to put back together ( Volvo plug and play) but take lots of pics of things like trim switches as they have lots of wires!

I had mine painted. Powder coating would be more durable but I wanted a particular gold colour and powder coating colours were quite flat.

I have only the one helm I'm afraid, was thinking of upgrading the dash dials to a newer style so would hope that volvo penta use the same plug and play as the version i have. Dismantling is never a problem for me but re asembling well that can be a different story,
you got any pics would be nice to see it

It will depend the age, variant etc but Volvo do use VDO Ocean Line but i have never tried to use them - I use bought some cheap ones of Ebay and cannibalised them for the lenses which tend to be the part that ages. Lenses are tricky to get hold of - and in may case end of line clearance gauges were cheaper than the lens and my son got a pile of gauges to play with in conjunction with his electronic kit.
