Hi Andy,
He has been around quite a bit, my wife saw it when she was on the Kingswear/Dartmouth ferry.

When you sit here as I do, in front of one of the best views in the country (world?) there is always something interesting to photograph. But if you're comparing.......Eos produced the better pictures, how could it not? However, the dolphin is the most exciting thing I've ever snapped from here.

Hi Andy,
Very impressed that you managed to spot that model plane, how big was it do you think?
The video he managed to take was also very good, do you know if he is a local chap by any chance?

Luckily I have spotters everywhere (he jokes) On this occasion my father saw the model plane - I was working inside. It wasn't big, nor terribly low, and I was astonished just how well the picture blew up. And yes, Alistair Roberts is local, he's a student who built it as part of a course he was doing.
It's the flying it by video goggles that I find amazing.
For those that haven't seen his footage it's here with great views of Eos in the Dart from on high.

Missed EOS, but down on the Dart yesterday as I helped a friend pull out his Mobo for a bottom scrub (well, more like a shave really) and then drop back in.
We were privileged to some companions right next to his mooring so I thought I'd share. (Apologies for picture resolution - taken on mobile phone and cropped.)
Just goes to illustrate the diversity of wildlife down there and I gather they are quite regular visitors...

Have seen many seals in the river but not on pontoons, great pic! Don't suppose you saw the dolphin?

No, sadly not! We spent much of the time up at Galmpton scrubbing the hull and removing 4 months or so of growth. Great day however and we did ponder a quick 'sea-trial', but it wasn't quite as tranquil out beyond the Castle. Thus we did a quick run out through the lumpy bit and then turned around and headed back up to mooring - just in time for the seals to return.
If next weekend is as nice, planning to spend Sunday on the Dart in our own 14' - the Missus was green with envy when she saw the seal pics.
We will certainly keep a lookout for the dolphin too however - and make sure camera is to hand. The Dart rarely disappoints for something worthy of a picture or too as this thread proves!

True, they are here most winters, not sure if they come in from the Mewstone?

Quite possible - they certainly didn't seem at all bothered by us or the other passing boats. They watched curiously as we went past about 25-30' away and headed up river. Seem quite at home on that nice flat 'rock'...
