After a time on the waiting list I have had a swing mooring in Dartmouth since last April that I have never used. I had intended to use it for my 28 foot sail boat but just after I signed up for it an opportunity came along to take a share in a Solent based 42 foot sailing boat.
The mooring is deep water up to 1.6m draft, rated up to 9m length and within the Dartmouth water taxi area. I am reluctant to lose it because it is rare and perfect position.
No point is having two sail boats, I would always use the big one. However, a small motor boat has some attractions and I had been considering buying one for the Dartmouth mooring. Something like a Nimbus or similar.
Another idea would be a share in a motor boat, using the Dartmouth mooring. Either purchase a share or share costs. In other words I get a motor boat to use occasionally and the owner gets a free Dartmouth Mooring, help with maintenance / upkeep and maybe some cash.
