I need to do some paintwork repairs to the blue stripe around the top of Jumblie's hull. I have a written note in the files from A.N. Previous-Owner saying "Dark blue gunwhale stripe is Blakes 105 Dark Blue".

A bit of searching reveals that Blake/Hempel don't make a dark blue paint coded 105 - but that International Toplac includes 105 Oxford Blue, which I reckon would be just about right.

This is a long shot, but does anyone here know if Blakes ever made a dark blue paint coded "105"?

No, 105 is International. Used it for 30 years. The latest Toplac type lasts 5/6 years without fading. Will be refinishing my hull this year after 6 years as the touched up bits are beginning to show.

I suspect whoever wrote the note misremembered the maker of his paint. International Oxford Blue it is, then.
