HARWICH HARBOUR APPROACHES

CORK HOLE – TEMPORARY LIGHT VESSEL

Latitude 51 deg 54'.330N., Longitude 001 deg 25’.420E

Harwich Haven Authority has been advised by Trinity House Lighthouse Service of the temporary establishment of a light vessel. THLS NTM 18/2011 refers.

Station : Temporary light vessel to be moored in the position defined above for testing for a period of approximately 4 weeks.

Have seen the one at Cork Hole - was wondering what it was doing there.
But this is not the one.

This one bears 130 from Rough Towers - about 3NM out. According to my only recently updated C-Map cartridge, they have added a sort of mini-roundabout to the South of the already established Sunk TSS.

The buoy is surely Sunk Inner? It is shown on Imray C30 dated June 2008, they changed the light characteristics in 2009, but AFAIK it hasn't changed position. On my chart and on my latest version of C-Map it is 4.5M 127deg from Roughs Tower.

There is nothing shown at 3.0M on 130deg, however S. Threshold is at 3.0 M 120deg, but is a yellow buoy so can't be the same one.

According to my chart, sunk inner is a "light float" whatever that means...

...on reflection I suppose it means that thing in your photograph...
