2 or 3 years ago some one posted a picture of a steel sail boat that had been rammed by what looked like a bulbous bow of a ship . The yacht was still afloat and I think moored in the Azores.

Any one know where there is a picture online

I saw a picture which matches your description a few days ago on the sailnet forums, sorry I can't find it again just now. If it helps I was reading up about steel vs aluminium vs grp.

We saw the boat anchored in the Gran Canaria, Canary islands. The dent was unbelievable and had obviously destroyed the furniture behind the dent. The boast was also dismasted.

The pic I found on sailnet was not a ketch and is called Gringo.

The boat in the pic had its mast intact

The steel boat that had a whale breach onto it in Cape Town is known to me and did loose it mast otherwise was OK.

August a steel boat that left Durban on route to Richards Bay went on to the rocks while the skipper was sleeping and when I saw it out of the water in Richards bay just has some paint scratches and rust loosened inside causing the hull to become porous.
