Hi
In April we are planning to depart on a 2 year cruise through the French canals, followed by some time at the Western (France, Spain) end of the Mediterranean.

I'm Looking to upgrade our current radio, CD player and a Pioneer car radio DAB unit has caught my eye.
I've never owned a DAB radio so only know what I have seen on the internet, will the DAB part work in France?
Assuming it dose? Is DAB in France any good? can you pick up any English stations?

Apparently there's two frequencies that DAB is broadcast on and the French use a different frequency to the UK?
I can't find anything that says if the Pioneer car radio DEH X6500DAB only works on the UK frequencies or if it can also pick up the French ones as well.

Any ideas?

Best regards
Paul

DAB a bit of a dead loss away from major centres. Bit like Current marine VHF radios, features no one needs for price we'd rather not pay.

We have a boat in based in S Brittany and the only UK signal we can get is Radio 4 on long wave, no UK reception on either DAB or FM. We also have a holiday house but there we use the radio through TV/satellite dish. Best radio we have found so far is a small Roberts one (I think) & it cost about £30 in the Brittany ferries on board shop.
