I am thinking of adding a DAB module to my Fusion entertainment system. What is the reception like in the Poole Bay/Solent area and at what distance offshore does the signal start to fade?

Thanks.

Would it not be easier/better to use an iPhone or other non fruit based device and stream ‘radio’ through the fusion?

I would expect it will be good in the Solent as the transmitters are on the Island. The DAB in my car loses Radio Solent south of Basingstoke, whereas I can listen on FM almost all the way to Reading. I do like that LBC now broadcast nationwide on DAB, and notably there tagline has changed from London's Biggest Conversation to Leading Britain's Conversation.

Mind you I've been blackballed by James O B !

Hi, Nigelpickin. Do you get good data streaming offshore? I assumed the range of 4G mobile transmitters would be a limiting factor. We get pretty cruddy coverage even onshore in the Poole area ...

We certainly used to when we were in the West Country, (and DAB was awful). Signal was good to around 5m off shore...
Here in Portugal we are getting signal (voda & 3) over 5nm out so it works well for us, but of course it does depend on your provider and your area.
