I was thinking of treating myself to a new stereo on the boat, DAB digital so I can tune into Absolute 80s and SWMBO can plug her iPhone into it.
I was just about to dash off to Halfords to buy one, quite a choice for under £100, when instead of looking at the colour of the display I accidentally read some of the text about the radio and it says that you need to use a DAB aerial in order to recieve the digital signal.
My current radio works on a standard marine VHF antenna, does anyone know if this will work with the DAB radio or will I have to install a new and separate "car aerial?"
Anyone any tips on which one to buy, Pure,Sony etc?

No idea about the aerial, but I've had several Pure DAB radios because I liked the look of them. However they have all developed major faults in relatively short periods of time, so my recommendation would be to avoid that particular make.

I believe dab will work with a UHF/VHF aerial but....

Why wouldn't you forego the DAB and just stream from your phone?

I guess that if you might have a limited data plan or poor coverage so have probably answered my own question :)

Guess I'll go Sony then, hopefully the existing cd changer will plug into it, not keen on giving that up - old habits eh?
