Started this thread as don't want to hijack useful thread showing how many are successfully getting visas for an extended stay in France.
Just want to raise one point regarding Health Insurance for Portugal.
My wife was refused state health care as SEF are taking ages to issue her residency card. [Mine was issued immediately after payment of €15 via SEF Brexit portal bit I am aware of a number being delayed due to non appearance of the payment request - Software glitch?]
However in trying to sort delay in wifes residency card the SEF insisted that under the Brexit withdrawal agreement Portugal will treat on their health system UK citizens as UK will reciprocate for Portuguese citizens in UK.
Furthermore SEF insist that production of the residency application is enough to get the treatment and we must complain.
Hence my understanding now is all that you need is proof of sufficient income (or financial independance) that I believe is the lowest in EU at just over €700pm.
Will post later on how we get on.
