Chatting with friends who own a Prestige 32 on shafts - they tell me that their 2 x D4 260s do not have a supercharger ( or perhaps compressor
is the preferred technical term ).

My Nimbus 27 on an outdrive has a single D4 260 with a supercharger.

This seems a bit odd to us. Can anyone explain please ?

The outdrive version has a compressor but the inboard shaft version doesn't, perhaps those with shafts don't need the extra acceleration as the
compressor shuts down at higher revs.

The difference is in the lower part of the rev range, where the outdrive version with the Kompressor produces a lot more torque below 2500rpm.
Above 2500rpm the curves are pretty much the same.

Maybe the idea of rocketship acceleration on a flybridge, where everyone up top tumbles off the back was thought not to be needed.
