Actually Daka thats not true. The Med is very salty and also because its warm, it contains a lot of unwelcome critters who like to set up home in heat exchanger passages. You do need to regularly clean heat exchangers to stop them becoming obstructed and causing overheating. It is also a regular service requirement on my Cats. Its one of those things that I don't mind paying for for peace of mindIf you cruised in filthy silty estuary water at low revs then I can see some benefit in cleaning the heat exchangers but not a lot on a twin engined boat !
