Can anybody please advise about this company run by a Mr David Webster. I purchased a 12 Volt Bennett V351 hydraulic pump from him on the 18 December 2013 and paid him by money transfer on the 18 Dec to include courier delivery. One month later the pump has never turned up and he has not communicated in any way, my calls and emails are ignored.

Does this company actually exist and does Mr Webster actually trade as D W Marine Services, his orginal and one and only Email to me lists his address as Unit 3 Maypool Building, Dartside Quay(MDL), Galmpton, Brixham TQ5 0EH

The treatment by this company to me has been totally out of order, I ordered the item so I could fit it over the Xmas break as I had some free time form a busy schedule.

I would appreciate any advise on this company from Forum Members in the Brixham area, as I decide what action to take to resolve the situation.

Perhaps you could call Dartside and see if anyone is actually there to reply to your emails etc or maybe they might give you some suggestions as to getting hold of him/them.

Thank you for your comments, the situation has become clearer the company operates under the name DW Marine Services and his contact Email is d.webster@dw-marineservices.co.uk. This is where the past catches up my receipt states payment to D2 Marine. I remembered about another tread on the forum about a yacht broker being jailed for theft and his company was D2 Marine and he was named as Mr Christopher Webster. The person I dealt with was a Mr David Webster.

I am not the only person to not have received the purchased item, check his Ebay Site dw-marineservices item281228645248 (sorry can not do link) and check the last feedback concerning this listing.

As the feedback states be wary of this company.

If you made payment in December then a bit concerned they got you to make payment to D2 as I understood that it was/is in liquidation - is it legal to go on selling stuff in that situation? https://www.duedil.com/company/06411864/d2-investments-ltd

I understood that DW Marine was a new company, but must confess that I've not had any direct experience of either entity other than via 3rd party contacts. Some of which were very happy with them and some less so. I think this is the article to which you refer, but should add this relates to D2 not DW... http://www.westernmorningnews.co.uk...ailed-luxury/story-20086237-detail/story.html

Sounds like the waters are indeed muddy at the moment and you should perhaps think about legal options if you cannot make contact? Quite happy to take a wander down there at the weekend and see if there's anyone there for you or you could try calling MDL Galmpton as I think it's their site?

Just seen this tread, hope things got sorted, my advice to anyone would be stay well clear of this company, thay have changed name but still the same crooks.
avoid like the plague.

Hi guys.
I have a small yacht of which my propeller is still with Dave Webster of DW Marine. He will not answer the phone. I decided to drive to his workshop just before Christmas and was met with some rather angry business owners to whom he owes thousands to. He shipped out of his unit and disappeared owing a lot of rent.
I will find him. I will get my prop back and anyone is welcome to join me if they are missing parts off their yacht or would like me to ask him in person where your parts are I am more than willing to help any boat owners at least get an answer. Please feel free to inbox me.

Kind regards,

Bear.

Any updates on the problems with this outfit ? Any of the posters resolved their problems satisfactorily or otherwise ?

i have been repairing propellers for dw marine services , so if enyone are missing propellers i have two propellers in my workshop, thay have not been picked up by dave webster! you can contact allan on brixham 01803 855283 or 07741026098.

Personally, I didn't have anything to do with Mr Webster and judging by what has been said here I am glad about it. Has this come to an ending, satisfactory perhaps?

The funny thing is, so many people seem to be very angry with the company, calling them crooks and so on, but these guys are still very much visible in the Internet. They haven't taken the website down : http://www.dw-marineservices.co.uk/.

However, if you check the more professional info about them you will see they are being shut down: http://www.bizdb.co.uk/company/d2-investments-ltd-06411864/ - Status: Liquidation.

I wonder if Mr Webster will appear somewhere else under a different name.

I suspect that this company (D2 investments - linked above in 2nd) was related to the original D2 Marine business (i.e. the father's business which ended under a cloud - easily 'Googleable').

DW Marine is/was run by other members of the family, fronted by the son and isn't in liquidation - or at least not that I've heard? They initially based the new business at MDL's Galmpton facility - is he not there now?
