We have found ourselves in a dilemma. My sons have grown up and one has gone, good job , house, sorted., the youngest will be driving in the next year or so but has never taken to boating. We are like many parents on here i.e very supportive with his studies and his sports ( all that takes time ) I said for years that I would quit motorcycle sport but I love it more than ever and have no plans to quit that either. Our business is very busy, I like the work and have no plans to retire as seen what it does to many and it's not great. ( That's just my opinion many will disagree). What all this means is time for boating has become harder to come by and yet my wife and I are passionate about getting out of the Solent and we like France and love the Channel Islands. A blast to Weymouth is a real favourite. When we have had the time we have done the trips.
So much as we loved our Broom ( best build boat I have owned) We sat down in November and had a really good think about what we need from a boat. We spent two days in Hall 5 of the Düsseldorf show and looked over some lovely stuff. I liked the Nordic walk around boats and wanted something with a side door where I could deal with the boat single handed if required. The bottom line is that we decided to move sideways in terms of size, sacrifice some internal volume but buy something where we can get in, shut the door and go! And I mean go. We have purchased a fast walk around. I will leave you in suspense and try and up load some pics tomorrow as I am visiting the new boat in the morning. More to follow.
