cutting foam

Electric carving knife.... but dont force it .. allow it to cut at its own pace

Another vote for the electric carving knife. Can't imagine why anyone would want such a thing for catering purposes, but they're great for foam. I bought one specially.

Luckily I never throw anything away, so I was able to find our electric knife in the loft where it had sat for 20 years.

20 years before I bought mine, I was 9 and not very interested carving knives whether electric or manual :)

A straight edge below the foam makes it a simple job.

Not if all your edges are curved :p

I recently used my B&D scorpion saw with the metal cutting blade,6' memory foam was raised of the floor on 4' wood battens and had someone gently separating the foam as a cut, as someone said don't rush the cut, i found a pendulum action the same way a jigsaw cuts worked best, pushing the top of the balde into the foam then letting the bottom of the blade catch up and ended up with a perfect edge :encouragement:

+1 for electric carving knife.

Spray the blade with silicon so that it slides smoothly but not if you intend glueing cut edges together.
