Can anyone tell me if I'll need a press/puller to replace it or is it glued in or something? It has two grub screws.

Also, I forgot to measure the length /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif can anyone tell me what I need to buy?

It will press out once you have removed the grub screws and shaft, or you can cut it with a hacksaw blade. You can also use an extractor which has been featured on this forum , but don't remember the link.

Almost certain you have a 25mm shaft so measure it accurately as it might be 1 inch. Bearings come in standard sizes length = 4* diameter

Some Westerly's had non-standard Cutless bearings, so measure the one you extract carefully. I could not find one to fit my Renown, but a local marine engineers knew what was needed and where to get it. It was not 4" long and the inner and outer diameters did not match anything on the stock list on the Countrose web site . The cost was not out of line with the on-line cost.

You are right about the older Westerlys. They used different types of stern bearing housings, some with non-standard bearings. However, the Storm uses a P bracket which will have a standard bearing, so only need to check the shaft size.
