Handling anchor chain and hauling up mooring warps onto the foredeck has often, over the years, resulted in cuts and sliced fingers from flakes of rust and slices of crustacean. So also has trying to slice through a captured crabpot line around the rudder. The answer, I've found, is a pair of knitted Kevlar gloves, which I've carried for a quiet afew years.

They're now available at Aldi stores from 31 Jan, cost £4.99, and I recommend them to peeps on here.

Also available from any Arco store or other PPE suppliers as these sort of gloves are used extensively in the workplace.

Probably more expensive than Aldi et al, but made to known CE BS & EN standards.

If they work well though, that's all the approval you need!!
