Customs & Excise disposal

A drugs yacht from the Caribbean sat in Shoreham Harbour for over a year (I think till after the trial) and then was auctioned on a published day.

I have seen them at local auctions, published in the catalogue to be sold at a set time amongst other general lots. I looked at one once and on the day the auction room was full of little old ladies etc. and thought I'll get a bargain here. About 10 minutes before the advertised time, in trooped dealers etc and it went for more than it was worth.

It's reported they do, but I know one who found a box of amunition aboard after he purchased her. That boat was "Aquilon" and she is currently lying against the woodyard type quay immediately upstream of Poole Bridge.

I have no idea who owns her now, but I doubt it is still the same man, I think his name was Jim and he used to be based on the Hamble, had a lovely old army MFV "Yarmouth Navigator"?? or "Yarmouth something-else", there were two, one much bigger than t'other, his the smaller.
