I need some help here.
I have just had a quote for a mattress, 235cm long, 135cm at big end and 80cms at narrow end, 15cm thick foam, with a cover, they wanted €943.0. about 900 quid.
Is this a normal price, seems outrageous to me!
Anybody in UK I can get a quote from? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Colin,
I have an approx 1000 pocket spring mattress with 25mm Memory foam by Hawke House, custom made for my Jeanneau 35, slightly smaller. Total depth about 8 inches in old money.
Superb quality, condensation relieving underside netting, lots of air relief holes in sides, and top quality cover.
I am told mine was over 1000 pounds, but I got it through the Jeanneau dealer after the guy sold his 35 after a couple of months.

It is, in every way, far superior to the mattress on my bed at home. Fantastic nights sleep, never want to get up in the morning.

Although very expensive, it fits the cabin like a glove.

I would not go back to foam cushion now.

Foam has risen steeply in price in line with oil, but that sounds exorbitant. We bought a quality foam mattress of similar size from GB Foam in High Wycombe for about £250. (we had a cover already).

Google on 'boat bedding' for other suppliers, or if you can find a house furnisher to run up a cover, buy the foam separately.

This is for the guest 4cabin, just rebuilt it. I understand, but I'm not paying that kind of money for a mattress. If it was for our bed, then maybe. Thanks for your help!!

Got a hammock for you on the foredeck!! When you coming down anyway!!!???

By the by, George and the lovely Theresa are aboard at the moment, will get back tomorrow to see them!!

www.trusleep.com, Foam only mattress to our specs, with a cover £149.0 now thats a bit better!! They do memory foam as well, will be mopre expensive, but what is this memory foam is it any good as a mattress? Dont know anything about it!

I just took delivery of a full new set of 11 cushions for my refitted Colvic Sailer 9m. New foam with covers, vinyl on the bottom and zipped at the back for £1080 for the lot from a local non marine upholstery company. Try a local company.

Sound like your being ripped off but then maybe you used the word 'Yacht" which as we all know can bump up the price.

If you want just the foam try Efoam.co.uk the site will give you an instant quote

Spoke to them all yesterday and they seemed very merry!! Theresa was winging coz I bought Pauline champagne and truffles when she broke her arm but nothing for T when she did her leg. Best sort that one out. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Well..........if I sent you the measurements, maybe you could make it for me?Hmmmm.....plus of course get it sent to Barcelona. I'm serious, PM me.

I took some advice from these fora a few weeks back and bought a foam mattress (SULTAN FÅVANG) from Ikea, cut it down to size & altered the cover to fit. Cost about £149. I also bought the slat kit for £50.. Now have a VERY comfy cabin for under £200!
