Curtain track

Yes unbelivably I have actually got to the point of needing to do curtains, cushions etc /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif, well as soon as I finish varnishing. ASnyone come accross a neet way of supporting curtains top & bottem. No room for pelments and anyway they would look naff, too modern for the rest of the interior. I have always found that wires sag in the middle and run badly. I was looking at strips of waxed wood but cant think of a neat way to make the curtains removable. Any ideas?

Wooden boat with 1" cabin trunks and windows are about 8x14"

thin metal, wood or plastic rods top and bottom.. these are hung on recycled coat hangers.

You can buy mini-curtain track from caravan shops - it's a 12mm wide channel in which the gliders run.
For the bottom of the curtain use a thin timber batten spaced off the cabin side.

I have the problem of curved windows in the forecabin, so wires won't work (and I don't like the look anyway), and finding fixings for a track is also a headache. As has also been said - check out the caravaners - but I have also seen quite a neat solution using copper pipe and curtains running on rings (Looks very nice if you keep it polished /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif )

Thanks - Copper pipe? yes, flatten the end and drill/slot for fixings, could work and look right. When I looked round at caravan stuff there seamed very little (on line anyway) but found a good range of 15mm adjustable poles designed for net curtains - like a mini curtain pole which looks good.

Curtain track from Toomer and Hayter and elastic at each bottom corner to hold them out when in use is one way. Another is chrome plated 15mm copper tube (normally used for plumbing in radiators) held of the coachroof sides by brass munsen clips look great. Curtains can be on rings or loops. If the cabin sides are not vertical the curtains could be held in with a wood batten at the bottom The pipe can also be used as a conduit for electric cables - my mast light cables go through one!
