OK where can I get the small nylon curtain runners that fit into the narrow aluminium track used on boats. They are used certainly on Fairlines and Se*****s, but gotta be available elsewhere.
They are about 4mm square with a little loop on... if you know what I mean.

That is uncanny. Just spent half an hour this afternonn browsing curtain rails in Focus, to fit on the boat so I don't surprise the neighbours in the morning.

Do you all recommend Silent Gliss?

Our local caravan shop in Plymouth has a small range that happens to include the same sections used on several makes of boat. I replaced mine tracks last year and was able to buy an exact match from them.

So give your local caravan outfit a call.

Re: Yes, recommended...

They look good. But all the places on the web seem to be trade interior designers etc.

Does anyone know if there anywhere in the North West who sells Silent Gliss?

Re: Yes, recommended...

No probs with mail order. I am interested in this particular rail (Left) as the only way I can install it is by having the flange squeezed behind a screwed on overhead instrument panel as I have found that it is difficult to screw into the glass windscreen!

Sorry you were affronted that I did not blindly order one without seeing it and measuring it to check it will fit. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Re: Yes, recommended...

Sorry, Chris, didn't realise you needed to measure! Your nearest dealers are probably John Lewis in Cheadle or Dencas By Design, 3-5 Christleton Road, Chester.

Re: Yes, recommended...

That's okay. I will still have to do a few 'adjsutments' to get a rail to fit.

Checked out Dencas by Design on the web, but they seem to be trade or large quantities, but John Lewis in Cheadle sounds a good idea.

Trouble is, I can't set out for Cheadle now, check out the curtain rails and be back in front of TV for 2.30 with a beer in my hand, watching England kick a few Kiwis around the pitch.

Yes, I know it's only a dream. But, it's a good dream.

Re: Sunday morning then...

Been to John Lewis - had to get out after watching England go down .

They only do one type of Silent Gliss - not the one I want - but I did get some rails for the side windows.

Go to the top

Why not contact the company direct:-

http://www.silentgliss.co.uk/index.cfm?92BE8DD5102B425F93353F3AA8FDA3AB

(That's the search page), Their 'phone number is on the contact page. Nice friendly company in sunny Margate. If you're very lucky they MAY tell you if anybody actually supplies the product you want - but you may have to press a bit.

(as an aside it never ceases to amaze me how many companies just don't know what their customers buy. I don't know if this applies to SG but it would be interesting to know)

Re: Go to the top

Silent Gliss won't supply direct. Well they don't on the commercial side of things anyway. They'll point you in the direction of a supplier close to your locale.
An Italian company, Moturra, also have a runner of similar design. That'll work on SG track systems.
