Can anyone in Gibraltar help with some advice and an update on the situation?

We have a yacht on delivery from the UK to Greece (currently passing Lisbon). Are there likely to be any issues at the moment in Gib? I assume all the problems and delays are with the land boarder, but thought it be sensible to check for local knowledge before they call in for the usual refuel and shop in Morrison's!

Many thanks,

Pete

There is no tension in the Spanish ports near Gib. There seems no reason why a yacht cannot visit Gib.
But it's not essential anyway!

We had no political problems with Gib or anywhere in SW Spain.

However, there are major works in Marina Bay which restricts space and boats are often turned away because they and Queensway Quay are full so, book in advance. LaLinea marina had space when we were there a couple of weeks ago.

This problem has just got worse as the police yesterday cleared all boats off the LaLinea outer anchorage.

La Linea is no good for Morrisons. The Ocean Village side of Marina Bay was pretty busy when I was there a few weeks ago. They are doing building works for a floating hotel.

Hiya Pete,

No problems berthing in Gib. Will need to call ahead though for a berth in Marina Bay.

Insider knowledge tells me that several new berths will be available on pier 4 after sunday.

For a quick pit stop, the two fuel docks are great for some of the cheapest fuel around now duty has been scrapped, around 80p a litre. Worth the stop and no need to clear in.
