We installed a small safe on-board, cheap enough these days, and although it wouldn't stop a real peterman, it would certainly foil the average break-in merchant, especially as its well hidden. Insurance premium increase to cover larger cash amounts only cost a couple of quid. Provides safe storage for passports and ships papers as well
