Those bonnie wee lassies arrived back yesterday so as Curling fever spreads across the globe this is our opportunity (Raggies & Stinkpots alike, no discrimination) to capitalise on this phenomenon. With the combined expertise that these forums possess we will be the focal point of the nation, commonwealth and the rest of the world as we advise on all issues related to Curling.

There wouldn't have to be just competitive Curling it could broaden out into Cruising Curling, Curling for those who just like to sit and look at it, polish it; etc

There could be heavy displacement, light displacement, narrow & wide beam stones to suit all types, even motorised stones with either petrol or diesel power, could even go solar power with those bright lights. Because of demand we would have to protect Alice Cragg for the purists and get the french & germans to build them, no doubt the price would come tumbling down, not sure aboot the quality, might need some sort of european directive. Category ABCD

People could qualify - Qualifications:
Competent Curler
Day Curler
Coastal Curler
Curling master
Curling instructor

The formation of the RSCC would need the election of officers, first being a chairperson (see how politically correct we are already!). Nominations could be put fwd from all existing forums, a few to consider;

1. Tcm (SP) for his rousing post on "Free Boating for all" (the only one he's ever done without typos)
2. Bill McFarlane (R) 'cos he's a Jock and for his ability to withstand all types of Curling conditions see "Heavy Weather Sailing"
3. Claymore (SP/R split vote) 'co he' a Jock as well and represents the middle ground being a motorsailor (neither one thing nor the other)
4. Twister_Ken (R) representing traditional heavyweight curling
5. Paulineb; the beauty & brains of curling
6. BrianJ; commonwealth representative (if no one else will do it, an ozzie always will, and badly!)

Nominations for the remaining posts to come from the Florum.

IPC would come in with Practical Curling, Curling Monthly, Curling World & Power Curling.

If Steven Byers takes it up it could be called "Curlying"

All those in favour and suggestions - vote the noo!

Slimfast sprinkled on the chips is an effective kind of diet - as far as the curling goes - I'm still concerned about the Swedish Skip having trouble with her drawers - I was thinking you could elect Pauline onto the panel as she knows all about those sorts of things.

They haven't as yet because their application is still pending approval. Apparently it ended up in the Transport Ministry and is still spinning around, will eventually get to the immigration dept where they have given the nod subject to a satisfactory political donation.

We could have long debates about whether it was better to have stones with plain red handles, or defaced blue ones, members could tell long yarns about the roughness of the ice they curled on, and how a heavy stone with lots of shreaded rope on the handle was always better.

Mind you, from a yachtsmans perspective, I was surprised that I could never see where the male skipper was stood, whilst all these women were doing the heavy work with the rocks.
