Just had a letter to say the branch will close end of April due to the joint venture arrangement with mercruisers ending on engines under 5 litres.
A blow for staff there, also making the collection of parts for me now a real pain as there is nothing like a local dealer being on hand.
All parts now will have to be courier from Northampton.
This also realtes to the supply of onan parts of which I service many generators.
Contacts for marine propulsion numbers are mobile only which I think is a bad step.
How will sealine owners fair on cmd Zeus service, will there be engineers local on the south coast that operate from home, will engines and drives now be taken to Wellingborough for workshop repair? No details of that in letter.
The parts staff I dealt with were greatly knowledgeable on everything, what a shame, hope they find jobs.
