Forum can be a bit quirky sometimes... You can't find where to or you just can't? Assume it asked you to confirm your registration? If not maybe drop an email to someone about it.. I know I have a few issues sometimes... Cummins engines are Tony's thing.. not forums �� he only started it because boatdiesel who he was a massive contributer on, was charging more and more and he was of the opinion it should be free to all.

Fixed it, problem is a very poor page layout that requires a lateral scroll bar, that's not been implemented in the window that displays the form. Tried Mac, PC and several browsers.

I also forgot to say... Exhaust... Most manufacturers haven't got a clue just using the standard setup with the engine. This generally kills the engines! Check out the info on sbmar about exhaust design and then check out what your prospective purchase has in place..

Yes that site's a mine of info. Esp about the effects of over-propping on turbo heat and ultimate engine longevity. I learned a ton of new stuff in a couple of hours. Really good.

Got a couple of boats with fitted with a variant of the Cummins 8.3 on my radar at the moment, so very useful research...!

VaSi Marine is no more - there was a partnership split due in part to a sad family bereavement, I’m told. Both partners are now doing their own thing. Simon sent the email mentioned above - never dealt with him. Dave Vasey has looked after my Cummins engines for 4 years and I can’t recommend him highly enough. His new business is vaseyengineering.co.uk - his engineering skills are definitely better than his website creation skills. I follow him on both Facebook and Instagram - both show his depth of experience and customers. Royal Navy stuff through fishing boats to my Prestige 38s. Give him a call!

OK Mike thanks. I've discounted one of the shortlisted Cummins powered boats for "domestic" reasons (didn't like the heads....) but at least one other on the distant radar, same or very similar 8.3's.
