If anyone is planning a visit this winter they aren't there. There was a problem with them breaking apart this year but now it looks like they have removed them and hauled them up onto the beach. I hope they are going to get the funding to put them back.

I anchored a night between there and the ferry slip this summer. Not a great anchorage, angle of the bottom is quite steep, and the fun fair over the water was noisy!

Why didn't you use the pontoon?

I used to use the anchorage at the north end of Cumbrae fairly regularly, being a pleasant first-evening-of-the-weekend sail from where the boat lived on the Gareloch.
