Is there anyone out there who knows of these two harbours on the NW Spanish coast and whether or not they are reasonably safe places to leave a boat - pontoon or swinging mooring for 2/3 weeks/
Many Thanks

I visted both last year I didn't think either were suitable to leave your boat unattended for any length of time. There's a marina at Gijon (further E) which would be a better bet or, possibly, you might find something at Ribadeo (further W).

Stephen.

Have to agree about Luarca, no security and not very well sheltered from the north. Ribadeo would be a much better bet.

Visited both a few years back. Cudillero should be OK, the large new harbour has plenty of fore and aft moorings used by yachts, facilities though rather basic. No security, but not a place one would expect problems. Had a bad night in Luarca with heavy northerly swell coming in - not recommended.

Like others, I would prefer Ribadeo.
