Does captain trolley's creeping crack cure work?

At anywhere between €12 & £20+ for a 60ml bottle it is expensive enough.

There is a small drip from beside the forpic hatch in heavy rain. Is CTCCC likely to successfully seal the leak?

I,ve found Captain Tolleys " incredible creeping crack cure" to work well in many situations - even on the car !
I,ve also found that Burgess Top Gloss seems to be exactly the same product, and for a fraction of the price
- around £15 a litre.
I,ve got a litre in the garage that I,ve had for over 20 yrs and have found it to be a better crack sealer than it ever was a wood seal overcoating.
I notice that the packaging has been subject to rebranding over time but I expect it,s still the same stuff

butoxyethanol ethylene glycol monobutyl
ether butyl cellosolve

The same as CtCCC which is an acrylic copolymer

Maybe these are different words for the same thing ?

Yes it works very well provided the crack (assuming it is a crack causing your leak) is not too wide and you follow the instructions .

It is expensive but I have not been able to find the same stuff cheaper in less than 5litre containers.

CTCCC worked very well at sealing the longitudinal hairline cracks (shakes) that developed in the mahogany coachroof sides of my Twister until I had time to rout them out and insert strips of matching timber.

I also used it to successfully stop a leak around the rubber seal of the boot of my car.

No, I,m not a chemist either, but I do know it looks the same, smells the same, sets the same, and does the job.
I had a leaking tailgate window seal on the car back in 2007. Stopped it using Burgess Top Gloss and it,s still good today !
Also used successfully on hatch frames, acrilic windows, deck joints, portlights etc etc.

That is very interesting. I did look at the data sheets for both, but as far as I could see neither really said what the ingredients were. Just a lot of chemistry mumbo jumbo that's way above my pay grade

+1 for it working - I have had success with leaking screw on my alloy toerail and similar with other deck fittings. Use when the area is fully dried out. It is not a substitute for long term rebedding but a great short term remedy.

If you need 5 litres, something is badly wrong! I replaced my little bottle last year after 10 years.
