crusader sails problem

Anyone else finding deliveries being put off time and again? All very nice and polite of course ( they do seem to be nice folks), but I'm getting a bit fed up of repeated broken promises. And its only a sail cover, or maybe that's the problem.

my last were on time the previous were late ( 20 yrs ago ) i invoked the late delivery clause i had negotiated @ LBS Earls Court late one saturday.
i paid a special 50% deposit & no more, thank you Paul

The set I ordered last year were late but they paid shipping out to Corfu without any argument. Very good sails at a good price.

my recent experience of them when shortlisting sailmakers was very positive and feedback on ybw also encouraging - do seem to be genuinely nice people

New dodgers and spray hood plus sails cleaned (outsourced if I recall) last Sept / Oct. More or less ready when they said. No probs except the spray hood is not a perfect fit (only old one as a pattern supplied). I don't hold that against them as they have never seen the boat and I had never fitted the old spray hood. Dumb, I know.

Crusader Sails

The first sail I bought from them gave me serious worries!! This was ten years ago, and I ordered it at "peak" time .. i.e. spring time. It was late being delivered and I called them a few times and each time I was told it was a bit behind schedule and would be delivered next week .... and next week ... and next week!
However, it did arrive and was fine, Since then I have ordered a number of sails and they have all been delivered more or less on time and have all been fine for quality, workmanship and good value. I have also spoken to them at boat shows and have always been impressed at their honesty, tech knowledge and their prices!!

So, the first time I bought, I was "unlucky" and was worried that I was being led up the garden path ................. but I can assure you from my experience that this is not the case with Crusader.

Found the service excellent when they had to go back for a small adjustment.

I had fabulous service from them! Came to Devon to measure the boat and I got the new sails about two weeks later. Used them last season and they are cracking sails (main and genny).

Would not go anywhere else now.

About ten years ago I had a similar problem with delivery of a stackback system. I remember ordering at the show having been promised delivery about six weeks later. I cancelled the order after almost three months, having received only occasional and evasive responses to my queries regarding progress. No delivery was in sight. Naturally, they haven't been on my supplier list since.
